The Jeanne M. Lusher Center for Hemostasis and Thrombosis is dedicated to providing exceptional clinical care to patients diagnosed with bleeding or clotting disorders through their multidisciplinary comprehensive team. Patients seen at the center will be provided with comprehensive care that looks beyond medical and physical needs to address medical, emotional, psychological, educational, and financial needs. Comprehensive care offered at hemophilia treatment centers (HTC’s) has been proven to improve the overall health and mortality of patients diagnosed with bleeding disorders.
Comprehensive Specialty Clinics
Comprehensive Clinic appointments occur when multiple health care providers (doctor, nurse, social worker…) come together during one appointment to provide medical care and education. It is recommended that someone diagnosed with a bleeding disorder be seen in a comprehensive clinic at least once a year. Appointments, generally, last 2-3 hours. Flow Clinic: This appointment addresses concerns for heavy menstrual bleeding in patients who is being evaluated for a bleeding disorder or is diagnosed with a bleeding disorder and/or Sickle Cell Disease
